The Feast of Saint John Paul II

To celebrate JPII's feast day, we read a poem from Meghan Bausch's Saintly Rhyme for Modern Times, and then we read Fabiola Garza's The Story of Saint John Paul II: A Boy Who Became Pope. The Boy Who Became Pope is a lengthy read, so it didn't hold my youngest's attention, but my 5- and 7-year-olds were fascinated to learn about JPII. We concluded with a simple prayer asking for JPII's intercession!

Reading aloud is one of the easiest ways to teach your children about the saints and immerse them in heroic stories of faith!

I also have a Saint Pope John Paul II creative writing activity you can download from my website for older children!
